Sketched as early as 1946 by Ilmari Tapiovaara, it wasn’t manufactured until 1958, when technical advances made mass production possible. A pioneer of modern Finnish design, Tapiovaara sought to combine plasticity with economical use of materials – an aspiration the Aslak Chair perfectly achieves.
